Equipped with 4.1 spindle bore, 2-speed ZF gearbox, and 12 in. hydraulic chuck, Model FBL-1233 delivers parts machining of bars up to 3.5 in. dia at speeds to 2,500 rpm, with X and Z travels of 12.6 and 32.3 in. and 708 ipm rapid traverse. To accelerate machine cycle time, 10-position indexing turret offers 0.5 sec tool indexing. Additional features include FANUC OiT control with mathematical processing capability, TFT color LCD screen, and chip conveyor with bucket.

New Lathe Offers High Precision, Speed and Repeatability
The new CHEVALIER FBL-1233 slant bed lathe features a 4.1 spindle bore, 2-speed ZF gearbox, 20,950lbs of total body weight and heavy duty box ways. It offers a flexible, accurate and efficient solution for mixed volume, short-run or dedicated high-volume applications, delivering fast parts machining of bars up to 3.5" in diameter at speeds up to 2,500rpm, X & Z travels of 12.6" and 32.3" and 708ipm rapid traverse. X/Z axis positioning accuracy is ±0.0002"/ ±0.0004" while repeatability is ±0.0001"/ ±0.0002". Accelerating machine cycle time is a 10-position indexing turret that offers 0.5 secs tool indexing (next tool.) The lathe features 35HP AC digital spindle motor and 12" hydraulic chuck. FANUC's OiT control gives the machine enhanced mathematical processing capability. A TFT color LCD screen gives a high resolution image and better operator visibility. A chip conveyor with bucket comes standard with the machine. Ribbed Meehanite cast iron, mono-block casting with hardened and ground, hand-scraped slideways help resist deflection and vibration during heavy machining and ensure stable end-to-end cutting of long shafts. The company says it engineered the machine with ease of access and trouble-free maintenance in mind. Low profile, wide front doors can accommodate robotic loading and unloading of workpieces. Heavy duty wire-braided hoses protect the hydraulic lines from airborne chip damage. Manual and automatic tool setters are available to help reduce cycle times and keep non-machining times to a minimum. Other productivity options include oil mist collector, automatic door and a 30psi high pressure coolant system.
