NEW OGP Focus Specialist Optical Comparator Provides Measurement Versatility for Medical Device Manufacturers
Optical Gaging Products (OGP®) introduces a NEW 16" Horizontal Contour Projector® designed to meet the inspection and measurement needs of medical device manufacturers - Focus(TM) Specialist. This premium benchtop comparator offers numerous technology firsts and innovative features.
The superb Focus Specialist optics are completely telecentric, yielding upright and reversed images that are crystal-clear and undistorted on its large 16" (406 mm) diameter viewing screen. Its dedicated 5x magnification lens allows a full 3.2" of an inspected part to be seen at once - more than could be seen on a 30" comparator using a 10x lens. New eCAD(TM) allows a CAD model to present a virtual chart on the comparator screen. Using eCAD, virtual charts move with the part for semi-automatic inspection, virtually eliminating the need for traditional charts. The unique combination of a dedicated 5x lens with the virtual chart power of eCAD makes Focus Specialist perfect for inspecting or measuring a wide array of medical device parts.
Focus Specialist features innovative all-LED TruLight(TM) illumination, a world-first use in optical comparators. The Focus Specialist on display is equipped with a high-brightness monochromatic green LED profile light, and a white LED TTL coaxial surface light that provides unsurpassed surface illumination. TruLight LEDs offer variable intensities, are extremely bright, and provide consistent performance. They are also long-lived, providing years of service, while consuming a fraction of the energy required for traditional tungsten illumination.
Focus Specialist mechanics are substantial and rock solid. A sturdy mineral cast base provides excellent metrological stability and measurement integrity. The motorized nickel-plated worktable allows for automatic programmed operation, and provides a generous 15" x 6" (380 x 150 mm) of XY travel, with 18" (450 mm) extended X travel available. Precision XY scale resolution is 1.0 ìm (0.00004"). OGP-exclusive Projectron(TM) provides reliable internal automatic edge detection.
The OGP Q-Check® multifunction digital readout offers high contrast dual backlit 2-line LCD displays that show X and Y positions, and measurement results. Q-Check allows selection of units (inch/mm, Cartesian/polar, and decimal degrees/dms); allows setting XY zero, skew alignment, and absolute/incremental datum; measures twelve geometric features; and allows construction from previously measured features. Q-Check includes parallel and serial connectors for data output.
eChek(TM) metrology software for optical comparators provides ease-of-use, power, and the versatility required to automatically measure 2D parts. It offers complete metrology functionality, full CNC operation, and an intuitive yet full-featured user interface, along with CAD import capability and easy links to other OGP software.
