Available with up to 100% post-consumer recycled content, new divided bowls with center cups are perfect for cut fruit and veggies with dip, nuts, candy and cheese cubes

MADISON, WI – With time being a precious commodity in most households today, the convenience of purchasing pre-cut fruits and veggies is a given. Placon, a top 20 US thermoformer of custom and stock food, retail and medical device packaging as well as recycled PET materials is continuing to meet consumers’ demands for convenience with its new divided containers, containing up to 100%, food-safe, post-consumer recycled materials.

The Fresh ‘n Clear divided bowls are available in black or crystal clear recycled PET as a 32 oz bowl with 3 compartments and center cup, or as a 48 oz container with 4 compartments and center cup. The multi-compartment bowls feature Placon’s unique “scround” design (square-round) giving the bowls a custom look while making for attractive, mouth-watering displays. Made with recycled EcoStarŪ materials consisting of post-consumer bottles and thermoforms that have been diverted from landfills, the bowls offer a great recyclability message for delis to promote to consumers.

Perfectly suited for colorful fruit and veggies, the bowls feature a dip cup area that fits most major manufacturers’ 4 oz. portion cups. The crush resistant bowls also feature secure, leak-resistant 360 degree seals with lid and base tabs offset from the corners so the containers are easy to open. Available in 3 lid designs, including flat, flat with “wave” design or domed; the lids can also be custom-embossed for strong brand recognition. The sectioned compartments can be used for a variety of year-round or seasonal uses, from cut apples and caramel dip in the fall, as gifts of gourmet nuts and chocolates for the holidays, and throughout the year for olives, cheese cubes, cut fruits and veggies.

“We are always looking to add on to our food container lines in order to provide our customers with a comprehensive breadth of packaging choices,” stated Jeff Lucash, Director of Sales - Stock Products, Placon. “From packaging that is recycled, tamper-evident or microwaveable, Placon continues to add new products every year in order to provide our customers with choices that are innovative and made incredibly well.”

The new containers will be on display at Placon’s booth E-8315 at Pack Expo 2012 in Chicago. For more information or to place an order, please contact Placon at 1.800.541.1635 or via email at info@placon.com.
