May 20, 2002 - Mini A-type, B-type USB connectors are intended for use in host and peripheral devices, respectively. AB-type allows for both A- and B-type cables to be inserted, and can be used in devices with host and peripheral capabilities. All mini-USB types are fully shielded and feature indentations for grounding and mating retention. Insulator material is made from PA6T thermoplastic, and contacts have 30 microinch gold on contact area.

A & AB Type Mini-USB New From Kycon

San Jose, CA - In addition to the B-type mini-USB connector, Kycon now also offers the mini A-type and the mini AB-type. The mini-USB connectors, which size has been reduced by over 60% compared to the standard USB connector, are the ideal solution for portable devices such as digital cameras, MP3 players, and PDA's.

Like their standard-sized USB counterparts, the A-type and the B-type are intended for use in host and peripheral devices, respectively. However the AB-type allows for both A- and B-type cables to be inserted and can as such be used in devices with both host and peripheral capabilities.

All three mini-USB types are fully shielded and feature indentations for exceptional grounding and mating retention. The insulator material is made from PA6T high temperature thermoplastic and the contacts have 30u" gold on contact area.
