Low-Emission Tube Reduces Vapor Permeation
WIXOM, MICH… OCT. 14, 2003… An innovative new product from NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc. can reduce permeation in automotive vapor lines by up to 80 percent, yet typically costs 30 percent less than standard PVDF barrier-layer tubing.
The NORMAFLEX® LET 10, or Low-Emission Tube, features a three-layer, polyester-based design whose mechanical properties are superior to the PVDF barrier hoses commonly used in automobiles and trucks. The tubing has demonstrated excellent tensile strength and elongation at break, as well as a high burst pressure. All materials are flourine-free.
NORMAFLEX® LET 10 can be tailored to customers' specific requirements. Corrugated tubing is available for applications requiring routing flexibility, while smooth tubing offers greater economy. Both are thermoformed to the desired length and diameter. A NORMAQUICK® 2K (two-shot) spigot can be incorporated into an assembly instead of an HDPE spigot when low permeation is particularly important.
NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc. is a leading manufacturer of clamps and connecting systems for automotive, heavy truck and industrial applications. The company, supported by a growing network of stocking distributors, is the North American subsidiary of Rasmussen GmbH of Germany.
