September 8, 2011 - Available with 5 or 10 mm clear aperture and diffusion angles of 1, 10, and 20°, Laser Speckle Reducers remove local interferences and minimize speckle noise in laser systems. Units utilize 4 electro-optic polymers, which selectively move each reducer's central diffuser along X and Y axis to form circular pattern of motion. Powered by USB, reducers are suitable for beam homogenization, 3D scanning, metrology, microscopy, and interferometry applications.

Laser Speckle Reducers Dynamically Diffuse Laser Beam to Reduce Speckle Noise

Barrington, N.J.-Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces new Laser Speckle Reducers. These versatile devices are ideal for a wide variety of beam homogenization, 3D scanning, metrology, microscopy and interferometry applications.

Diffusing angles of 1°, 10° and 20°

Edmund Optics' Laser Speckle Reducers remove local interferences and greatly reduce speckle noise in laser systems. This is done by dynamically diffusing the laser beam. Diffusing angles of 1°, 10° and 20° are offered, providing maximum versatility for a wide range of uses. Laser Speckle Reducers are compact for ease of handling and integration. They feature integrated drive electronics and provide vibration-less speckle reduction.

Laser speckle pattern appears as uniform light distribution

Laser Speckle Reducers utilize four electro-optic polymers, which selectively move each Laser Speckle Reducer's central diffuser along the X and Y axis to form a circular pattern of motion. As a result, the Laser Speckle Reducers adjust the laser speckle pattern to appear as a uniform distribution of light. To take advantage of maximum laser speckle reduction, the user would position the Laser Speckle Reducers perpendicular to the laser beam and use a collimated laser source with beam diameter equivalent to the Laser Speckle Reducers' clear aperture.

USB powered

Edmund Optics' Laser Speckle Reducers are USB powered for convenience and ease of use. They are offered in models with either a 5 mm or 10 mm clear aperture and with diffusion angles of 1°, 10° or 20°. Laser Speckle Reducers are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value.
