February 22, 2007 - Powered by disposable and rechargeable batteries, respectively, DET4TC and DET4TCR are 4-terminal ground testers with ART (Attached Rod Technique) capability and selectable output voltage (25 or 50 V). Both also offer stakeless (clamp-on) testing capability for applications where traditional fall-of-potential testing is not possible. Carrying 100 V CAT IV rating, products can be used to perform soil resistivity tests as well as standard ground resistance tests.

Two New Ground Testers from Megger Offer a Unique Solution to Ground Testing

Megger, the world's leading supplier of insulation resistance and ground resistance testers, introduces two new four-terminal ground testers, the DET4TC and DET4TCR to its established family of ground testing instruments. These new models include the ART (Attached Rod Technique) capability already found in Megger's popular DET3TC, and add stakeless (clamp-on) testing capability for applications where traditional fall-of-potential testing is not possible. Other unique features of the DET4TC and DET4TCR include selectable output voltage (25 V or 50 V) and a 100 V CAT IV rating. The DET4TCR is powered by rechargeable batteries, while the DET4TC uses disposable batteries.

The DET4TC and DET4TCR are shipped complete with stakes and leads in a hard-pack carrying case, giving the end user everything needed to begin testing. These units can also be purchased in kit form (DET4TC+KIT and DET4TCR+KIT). The kits include the voltage and current clamps needed to perform ART and stakeless tests, leads on reels for easy take-up, calibration standards and a large hard-pack carrying case.

Four-terminal ground testers can be used to perform soil resistivity tests as well as standard ground resistance tests. The DET4TC and DET4TCR join Megger's DET4TD, DET3TD, DET3TA, DET3TC and DET2/2 as part of the most comprehensive family of three- and four-terminal ground resistance testers available anywhere.
