New Anti-Microbial Treatment Added to Popular Astro and Eclipse Ceiling Panels from USG Interiors

A new state-of-the-art anti-microbial treatment is now available on all ASTRO(TM) CLIMAPLUS(TM) Ceiling Panels and select ECLIPSE(TM) CLIMAPLUS(TM) Ceiling Panels, two of the most popular acoustical products from USG Interiors, Inc. This USG-patented treatment provides broad-spectrum control for fungi, mold, mildew, bacteria, yeast and algae, and has demonstrated superior resistance to microbial growth.

Both ceiling panels are the only ones on the market with a limited lifetime (30-year) warranty against mold and mildew. They also contain very low levels of formaldehyde, which enables them to meet a variety of stringent industry requirements.

In recent years, indoor environmental quality (IEQ) has become a critical consideration for architects, designers, property owners and construction professionals because of the impact it can have on the health of building occupants.

Responding to the demand for products that enhance IEQ, USG Interiors developed ASTRO and ECLIPSE ceiling panels with CLIMAPLUS performance. These panels are formulated to endure environments with up to 95 percent relative humidity and temperatures up to 104°F when used with a DONN® Brand Suspension System. With the addition of the new antimicrobial treatment, the panels are a superior choice for creating healthy, comfortable spaces.

ASTRO CLIMAPLUS Ceiling Panels are finely textured with a non-fissured appearance for a highly desirable aesthetic effect at an economical price. These mid-priced panels can be installed in locations ranging from offices, hospitals and health care facilities to schools and municipal buildings.

ECLIPSE CLIMAPLUS Ceiling Panels feature a non-directional pattern for consistent appearance and are available in standard colors for multiple design options. Applications include schools, hotels, lobbies, general office and conference areas and transportation terminals.
