December 27, 2012 - Accommodating 0.65 mm pitch BGA 140-pin ICs, SG-BGA-7249 is designed for Renesas Code PVBG0140JA-A package and operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz with less than 1 dB insertion loss. Typ contact resistance is 20 mΩ per pin, and socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on all connections. Mounted on any existing PCB with placement/epoxy system, product is constructed with elastomer contactor and is rated for operation from -35 to +100°C.

Socket Your 140 Pin BGA Packages on Any PCB without Significant Performance Loss and with No Soldering and no Mounting Hardware or Screws


EAGAN, MN - Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance BGA socket for 0.65mm pitch BGA 140 pin IC's. The SG-BGA-7249 socket is designed for a Renesas Code PVBG0140JA-A package and operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The sockets are designed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heat sinking and can handle up to 100 watts with custom heat sink. The contact resistance is typically 20 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on all connections. The socket is mounted with a patented technology that allows for mounting with no holes in the target PCB, no soldering, and minimal footprint. It can be mounted on any existing PCB with our exclusive placement/epoxy system.

The SG-BGA-7249 sockets are constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor. The temperature range is -35 C to +100 C. The pin self inductance is 0.15 nH and mutual inductance of 0.025 nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.01 pF. Current capacity is 2 amps per pin. Works with IC's such as Renesas PVBGA140, 5x13.5x1mm with 0.65mm pitch and 7x20 ball array.

Pricing for the SG-BGA-7249 is $633 at qty 1; with reduced pricing available depending on quantity required.
