HK Systems Releases Enhanced Material Tracking and Control Software

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, February 29, 2008 - HK Systems, Inc., one of North America's leading automated material handling and supply chain software total solutions providers, today announces the release of their enhanced Material Tracking and Control Software (MTC) product, specifically designed for the newspaper industry. HK Systems' MTC product is designed to support today's complex newsprint and Free Standing Insets (FSI) material management, specifically addressing the industry trend of the growing number of FSIs required for a production run. MTC manages getting the right product to the right place at the right time and contains standard interfaces to allow mid-sized newspapers to deploy the software with minimal investment.

With standard interfaces to Muller Martini's SAM, OMNIZONE and the BURT production planning systems, the software configuration takes hours versus days. The MTC system includes a Newsprint Manager, Insert Manager, and Package Manager, which can all be deployed individually.
