General Equipment Introduces Rip-R-Stripper(TM) Floor Covering Scraper

OWATONNA, Minn. - General Equipment Company introduces the FCS16 Rip-R-Stripper(TM), an electric-powered floor-covering scraper. Ideal for removing such materials as carpet, ceramic tile, linoleum and mastics, the Rip-R-Stripper offers high productivity, an ergonomic design and multiple removal accessories. Built with a 3/4-horsepower, 115/230 VAC, 60-Hertz electric motor, the Rip-R-Stripper features high productivity, yet low noise levels. With an exciter unit mounted directly to the driveshaft, the scraper uses downward force to bore into and strip away the applied floor covering and adhesive. External weights can be added to provide extra force for removing tough residues and to increase material removal rates. Producing less than 70 dBA (decibel level), operation noise is quiet and safe. Featuring an ergonomic design, the Rip-R-Stripper provides a more pleasant operator experience to increase work stamina and minimize occupational injury. The comfortable operator's handle offers a full-width, tubular construction that increases leverage and control, while the handle-grip configuration is designed to optimize wrist strength and reduce fatigue. The adjustable handle height caters to operators of any build, helping to prevent lower back strain. Further increasing safety and productivity rates, the Back-Saver(TM) blade control system allows infinite adjustment of the blade angle during use. This eliminates having to stop the machine and manually change blade angles or adjust linkages. Several blade options are available to handle different materials and application dimensions. Options include 6-, 10- and 16-inch straight blades (beveled edges) for removing carpet, linoleum and ceramic tile; 6- and 10-inch angled blades (beveled edges) for mastic removal; 8-and 12-inch straight scoring blades (beveled edge up) for removing materials from concrete surfaces; 8- and 12-inch straight scoring blades (beveled edge down) for removing materials from wood surfaces; and a ripper-tooth attachment for ceramic tile and hardwood floor removal. All blades can be quickly and easily removed using the supplied "T"-handled Allen wrench. Designed for simple transport and storage, the Rip-R-Stripper is built with a foldable handle, frame-integrated lifting grips and solid composite wheels. Each wheel is fitted with an externally mounted, adjustable scraper to minimize build-up of tacky adhesive/mastic materials and keep the unit moving freely about the job site. With a unitized, welded steel-plate frame and only one moving part, the Rip-R-Stripper is built to handle the rigors of most job sites, while requiring minimal routine maintenance. Oversized, high-capacity rubber mounts, extra capacity ball bearings and integrated frame stops help to avoid damage from abuse or high shock loads.
