New Okuma LB45III Horizontal Lathe
Plainville, CT – Hygrade Precision Technologies, Inc. recently added a new Okuma LB45III horizontal lathe to its machining operations. This new machine adds significant capacity to Hygrades contract machining and manufacturing business at its Plainville, CT facility.
The LB45III offers speed and accuracy along with long bed capacities. The powerful spindle and drive motor with fast-indexing NC turret means high productivity for fast and heavy-duty turning. With Okuma's strong base casting at the foundation, the LB45II offers some of the longest available beds, allowing for large diameter machining in a variety of bore sizes. The LB45III is able to generate sideway movement to both axes, increasing both cutting speed and feed rates.
In addition to the new machine, Hygrade has reorganized its equipment layout on the production floor for improved efficiency. This change has maximized Hygrades work flow and performance of its manufacturing operations to better service its customers.
Hygrade Precision Technologies currently operates in a 40,000 square foot facility located in central Connecticut. Their capabilities and services include CNC multi-axis machining, CNC and manual ID/OD grinding, Vertical ID/OD grinding, flat lapping and grinding, and testing and inspection services, including CMM inspection and surface temper etch services.
