New Interactive Poron Gap Filling Tool from Rogers Helps Identify the Best Poron Materials

Rogers, CT - Rogers Corporation has introduced a unique online, interactive PORON® Gap Filling Tool to help designers select the best PORON Urethane to meet their specific application needs.

As part of Rogers' continual effort to provide innovative design solutions for design engineers worldwide, the new PORON Gap Filling Tool is available to them via web access at all times, no matter where they are located. This new tool is the only offering of its kind on the market today.

This easy-to-use interactive tool will help designers quickly customize their search in choosing the proper PORON material to meet final gap thickness requirements. Designers can select a final gap thickness and optional adhesive thickness from a drop-down menu and get a list of suitable PORON materials for their specific application.

From this specific material list, designers can then select one or more of the PORON products to create a custom compression force deflection graph. This graph enables the user to "mouse-over" product curves to show actual compression force and final thickness values along any point on the curve.

The PORON Gap Filling Tool is easy to navigate, provides links to data sheets, allows users to select and customize graph for only those products they are interested in, and select the unit of measurement preferred - SI or metric.

The new Gap Filling Tool also has a feature to allow the user to select an incompressible adhesive layer and add it to each selected PORON product, generating a corresponding graph.

Rogers encourages designers to link their design sites directly to the Gap Filling Tool at http://rogerscorp.com/hpf/tools/gapfilling/index.aspx

Online technical questions or comments about specific PORON materials will generate a quick response.

PORON Urethanes, produced by Rogers' High Performance Foams Division, feature fine celled polyurethane; they are easy to fabricate, provide reliable performance across a wide range of temperatures, are flame retardant and provide excellent resistance to compression set.

They are used for sealing and shock absorbing components in communication and computer equipment, appliances, medical devices and automotive applications. For consumer markets PORON Urethanes are used in footwear, apparel, outdoor equipment and sports products applications.
