ASTM International Committee on Tires Names John Kohler as New Chairman



John Kohler, technical specialist - elastomers, FCA US LLC (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), Auburn Hills, Mich., has been named chairman of ASTM International Committee F09 on Tires.



Formed in 1971, F09 has over 85 members, and includes 7 technical subcommittees that oversee more 38 standards related to tire characteristics and performance, research, and vehicular testing. Kohler has been a member of ASTM since 2004.



Kohler began his career with Chrysler Corporation in 1995. Kohler holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Michigan Technological University.



Kohler previously received an Award of Appreciation for his work on Committee F09. He is also a member of ASTM Committee D11 on Rubber, and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
