July 24, 2009 - Sponsored by ASTM International Committee B01 on Electrical Conductors, a workshop on Continuous Improvements of Southwire Continuous Rod (SCRŽ) will be held October 20, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. Objectives are to present an overall review of the continuous casting process for copper and aluminum rod; showcase improvements garnered through partnership between Southwire and its customers; and understand the latest developments in the continuous casting processes.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., July 22, 2009-A workshop on Continuous Improvements of Southwire Continuous Rod (SCRŽ) will be held Oct. 20, 2009, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee B01 on Electrical Conductors, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the Oct. 21-22 standards development meetings of the committee.

The objectives for this workshop are to present an overall review of the continuous casting process for copper and aluminum rod and the improvements that have been garnered through partnership between Southwire and its customers, and to understand the latest developments in the continuous casting processes and benefits for users of the rod products.
