MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA December 13, 2006 Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces that it has been recognized as "China Component Leader" in two key categories: resistors and capacitors. During a November 23, 2006 ceremony at the China Electronics Fair in Shanghai, Vishay received awards as the top company in both categories. The event was sponsored by ChinaECNet, Chinas top electronics web portal, in partnership with the China Electronics Fair, which is Chinas largest trade show for the electronics industry.
Selection criteria for the awards were market share, technology, and product quality. The selection process included preliminary research, polling of ChinaECNets 300,000 online members, and inputs from the 100,000 attendees at the China Electronics Fair.

Eric Lo, Vishays Director of Sales, Hong Kong and China, received the awards on behalf of Vishay at a special banquet attended by over 400 electronics industry leaders. Senior government officials from the China Ministry of Information Industry and representatives of the China Electronic Enterprises Association announced the winners and conferred the awards.
The awards ceremony was a highlight of the 2006 China Electronic Components Open Forum, which took place on November 23 and 24 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. The two-day forum and the awards ceremony were transmitted live via broadband connection to large LCD screens in all convention halls of the China Electronics Fair and to thousands of Chinese electronics professionals through ChinaECNets web network. The forum and awards ceremony were covered by major China electronics industry media outlets.
In addition to resistors and capacitors, award categories included magnetics, fuses, printed circuit boards, lighting products, motor and motion control products, sensors, interconnect products, and other categories.
