Fair Lawn, New Jersey, August 7, 2009 - Sandvik Coromant has announced a family of tools dedicated to productive grooving and slitting performance. This assortment of tools includes additions to the CoroMill® 329, CoroMill 331, CoroMill 327 and CoroMill 328 lines of products. The tools will be available in October 2009.
The new CoroMill 329 cutter uses CoroCut® 2-edge inserts with a strong V-rail clamping interface. Inserts are securely mounted with exceptional stability, allowing speed to be increased with no sacrifice in tolerances or surface quality. CoroMill 329 cutters are available in 4" and 5" diameters and offer 0.098" - 0.157" grooving width to a maximum 0.709" depth. Grooving grade GC1125 inserts are recommended as the first choice for use with CoroMill 329, for all materials and general conditions.
The CoroMill 331 offers a direct route to cost-efficient slot milling. New 8-edge inserts are available in exchangeable cassettes. This allows inserts to be changed quickly to reduce downtime. Inserts are available in high performance grades for steel and cast iron.
CoroMill 327 and CoroMill 328 are high productivity solutions for internal and external grooving and slotting. CoroMill 327 covers internal grooving, chamfering and threading in holes over 0.382" in diameter. CoroMill 328 is an indexable-insert solutions for threading and grooving of external grooves and holes over 1.535" in diameter. Insert grade GC1025 can be used for all materials with both the CoroMill 327 and CoroMill 328.
