W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-The Ninth Symposium on Performance of Protective Clothing and Equipment: Emerging Issues and Technologies, will be held June 16-17 at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee F23 on Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment, the symposium will be held in conjunction with the June standards development meetings of the committee.

The objective of the symposium is to provide a forum for the discussion of emerging technologies and issues in protective clothing and equipment. Specific objectives are to:
  • Showcase recent research and advances in personal protective technology;
  • Define existing and emerging challenges in the development and use of PPE;
  • Promote communication and information sharing between researchers, manufacturers, users and government entities; and
  • Ascertain areas where new or revised standards are needed.

    The symposium is intended to broaden the awareness of safety professionals, manufacturers, end users, government and academic researchers, standards development organizations and certification laboratories concerning recent advancements and burgeoning issues in protective clothing and equipment.

    Online registration opens approximately eight weeks before the workshop and closes June 8. The fees to attend the workshop are as follows: ASTM members, presenters and session chairs: $235 USD for online registration and $260 USD for onsite registration; non-ASTM members: $285 USD for online registration and $310 USD for onsite registration. There is no fee for students with a valid ID.
