Press release date: November 15, 2007
ProSoft Technology now offers a complete line of PROFIBUS DP modules for Rockwell Automation's ControlLogix®, CompactLogix(TM), SLC(TM) and FLEX I/O(TM) platforms.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif., November 15, 2007
With ProSoft Technology's introduction of the new PROFIBUS DP modules for Rockwell Automation's CompactLogix(TM) and SLC(TM) platforms, this marks the first time a single vendor has ever had support for PROFIBUS DP for so many platforms. For Rockwell Automation customers using PROFIBUS DP network devices and equipment, there have traditionally been different vendors supporting the various Rockwell Automation platforms, but now when a technical support question arises, users can turn to a single vendor for answers. ProSoft Technology is widely known for providing superior technical support, with a team of support engineers who have real world field experience and who are not only knowledgeable about ProSoft Technology products, but also the Rockwell Automation product lines.
Enhancements to PROFIBUS DP Master V1 module for ControlLogix®:
The MVI56-PDPMV1 module has been enhanced to incorporate some significant new features that make the module more efficient and user friendly.
The MVI56-PDPMV1 is the first module to be enabled with CIP Connect(TM), a feature that allows a PC to connect to the MVI56-PDPMV1 module over Ethernet via the 1756-ENBT EtherNet/IP module. This allows the user to configure the PROFIBUS master module and network, upload, download files, and view network and module diagnostics from a PC using the ProSoft Configuration Builder (PCB). Only one IP address is required. RSLinx is not required. The user enters an IP address and slot number PSW-cDTM-PDPM comDTM support included. Now connect your FDT or Asset Management software to a PROFIBUS network.
PROFIBUS DP Master and Slave modules for CompactLogix(TM) These single-slot backplane compatible modules support both I/O control and CIP messaging for parameterization and alarms. CIP messaging which separates non-critical (acyclic) data from critical (cyclic) data which reduces the amount of information that is continually updated. This allows for non-critical data to be sent upon request only, which can significantly speed up performance. The modules are PROFIBUS certified and offer DPV0/V1 support. They are all configurable via ladder logic or the new ProSoft.net FDT Configuration Software. Individually features for these modules include:
PROFIBUS DP Master module (PS69-DPM)
Master: Input size 408 bytes, Output size 480 bytes Generic slave DTM available (turns any GSD file into a DTM) Master DTM included supporting other FDT-compliant frames such as PACTware or FieldCare.
PROFIBUS DP Slave module (PS69-DPS) Slave: Input size 68-190 words/bytes, Output size 2-124 words/bytes
New PROFIBUS DP products for the SLC(TM) platform: Both of these modules support freeze/sync commands. They offer user-configurable data mapping to maximize flexibility and data transfer with other protocols.
PROFIBUS DP Master V1 module (MVI46-PDPMV1): Acts as a PROFIBUS network scanner, transferring Input and Output data between PROFIBUS devices and processor data memory over the backplane Acyclic parameter data can be tranferred with Class 1 or Class 2 DPV1 services, allowing easy communication between processors and DPV0/V1 slave devices. Data transfer is asynchronous with the I/O data transfer on the PROFIBUS network. Up to 125 slaves can be connected with a repeater Up to 1536 cyclic bytes input and 1536 bytes output data PROFIBUS DP Slave V0 module (MVI46-PDPS):
Provides powerful data transfer between the module and SLC processors Has access to processor memory for data transfer between processor and module using M0/M1 files 244 bytes of Input and Output data, with a max. of 400 bytes Freeze/Sync capabilities and support for Auto Baud Setting Support for up to 125 nodes

I am using prosoft profibus card on a Allen bradely PLC. all is working fine. I just would like to know how to represent Profibus PA 4 byte of data into human readable value. The 4 byte from the instruments is in hex and represents a value. How to decode this using ladder logic?
