Papers Invite Issued for ASTM oxygen-enriched atmosphere symposium.

December 20, 2010 - Papers are being sought for Thirteenth International Symposium on Flammability and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres, which will be held September 19-21, 2012 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Providing forum for exchange of ideas, symposium asks for papers with focus on improving safety for manufacturing, safe use and current research conducted related to oxygen, oxygen-enriched atmospheres, and non-oxygen oxidizer systems.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-Papers are invited for the Thirteenth International Symposium on Flammability and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres, which will be held Sept.19-21, 2012, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Sponsored by ASTM Committee G04 on Compatibility and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen Enriched Atmospheres, the symposium will be held in conjunction with the Sept. 17-18 standards development meetings of the committee.

The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on oxygen, oxygen-enriched environments and other oxidizer systems. These ideas involve improving safety for manufacturing, safe use and current research conducted related to oxygen, oxygen-enriched atmospheres and non-oxygen oxidizer systems. Papers on any topic related to the objective are requested.

To participate in the symposium, presenters/authors must submit online the Abstract Submittal Form and attach a 250-300 word preliminary abstract no later than June 20, 2011. The abstract must include a clear definition of the objective and approach of the work discussed, pointing out material that is new, and present sufficient details regarding results. Symposium Chairman Eddie Davis will notify by July 20, 2011, of your paper's acceptability for presentation at the symposium.

Symposium presenters are required to submit their papers to the Journal of ASTM International (JAI). JAI is an online, peer-reviewed journal for the international scientific and engineering community (www.astm.org/JAI). Manuscripts to be peer reviewed for JAI are due online no later than Dec. 19, 2011.
