Joe Robbins Earns Award of Merit for contributions to G03.

Robbins III, CEO of Arizona Desert Testing LLC, received ASTM International's Award of Merit from Committee G03 on Weathering and Durability for his contributions to standards activities. ASTM International member since 1984, Robbins currently chairs G03 and works on several G03 subcommittees. He also chairs Subcommittee G03.02 on Natural and Environmental Exposure Tests, actively participates as member of several other committees, and is member of SAE International.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-Joe S. Robbins III, CEO of Arizona Desert Testing LLC in Wittmann, Ariz., has received ASTM International's highest organizational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities, the Award of Merit, from Committee G03 on Weathering and Durability.

A member of ASTM International since 1984, Robbins is the current chairman of G03. He works on several G03 subcommittees and also chairs Subcommittee G03.02 on Natural and Environmental Exposure Tests. In addition to his work on G03, he is an active member of Committees C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates; D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications; D20 on Plastics; and E44 on Solar, Geothermal and Other Alternative Energy Sources.

Robbins co-founded Arizona Desert Testing LLC, a materials testing laboratory that specializes in accelerated and outdoor weathering services, in 1998. Prior to that, he held various engineering roles at DSET Laboratories Inc. (now Atlas Weathering Services Group), New River, Ariz., including chief engineer, manager of the weathering division and president.

Outside ASTM International, Robbins is a member of SAE International. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Arizona State University.
