W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., - ASTM International is sponsoring a symposium on Testing and Use of Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants. Sponsored by ASTM Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants, the symposium will be held on Dec. 6, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Jacksonville, Fla., in conjunction with the Dec. 5-9 standards development meetings of the committee.

The general objective of the symposium is to hold a technical forum for discussions related to current trends for testing and use of environmentally acceptable lubricants. It also provides details on current research efforts to advance use of bio-based and other environmentally acceptable lubricants, and to develop new and improved environment test methods.

Anyone involved in bio-based lubricant testing and driven to use/produce renewable and environmentally responsible lubricants, OEM of equipment, university researchers, government agencies, lubricant formulators and bio-based lubricant users are invited to attend.

Online registration opens approximately eight weeks before the symposium and will close Dec. 1. There is no fee to attend the symposium for ASTM members, presenters, session chairs and students with a valid I.D. The fee for non-ASTM members is $50 USD for online registration and $75 USD for on-site registration. For more information, visit www.astm.org/D02symp1210_1.htm.
