David Styers Jr. receives Copper Club Award.

August 22, 2012 - David Styers Jr., VP of technical product and processes at Wolverine Tube Inc. in Decatur, AL, has received Copper Club Award from ASTM International Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys. Established in 1979, award is presented to individuals who have done the most to advance standardization of copper and copper alloys. Styers has been a member of Committee B05 since 1992. He currently serves as first vice chairman of main committee and chairs Subcommittee B05.94 on Strategic Planning.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., -David Styers Jr., vice president of technical product and processes at Wolverine Tube Inc. in Decatur, Ala., has received the Copper Club Award from ASTM International Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys. Established in 1979, the award is presented to individuals who have done the most to advance the standardization of copper and copper alloys.

Styers has been a member of ASTM International and Committee B05 since 1992. He currently serves as first vice chairman of the main committee and chairs Subcommittee B05.94 on Strategic Planning. He received the B05 Award of Appreciation in 2007.

A graduate of the University of Alabama - Huntsville, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and his master's in management, Styers joined the staff at Wolverine Tube in 1976. During his 36-year tenure, he has held a variety of technical and marketing roles, including corporate quality manager, associate manufacturing engineer and marketing director. He received his current title in 2009.

In addition to ASTM International, Styers is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
