Committee on Lime releases compilation for 100th anniversary.

January 25, 2013 - ASTM Committee C07 on Lime has released the compilation, LIME: Building the 100-Year Legacy of the ASTM Committee C07. Book includes 16 peer-reviewed papers, covering such topics as historical standards development, current industry activities, and potential areas for future work. Several papers present traditional uses of lime in asphalt, soil stabilization, and paper manufacturing, while others cover environmental applications and updates on test methods for XRF analysis and free moisture.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., —ASTM International Committee C07 on Lime has released the compilation, LIME: Building the 100-Year Legacy of the ASTM Committee C07, in celebration of its 100th anniversary.

The book includes 16 peer-reviewed papers, covering such topics as historical standards development, current industry activities and potential areas for future work. Several papers present the more traditional uses of lime in asphalt, soil stabilization and paper manufacturing, and others cover:
• Updates on common test methods for XRF analysis and free moisture;
• Environmental applications of lime and limestone;
• Pore size and pore volume measurement — indications of the increasing role of lime and limestone in flue gas treatment; and
• The industry’s move toward zero-waste.
