ROSEMONT, IL, September 11, 2007 Appleton, a premium supplier of industrial electrical components, announced today that its AJBEW Series of explosion-proof enclosures has earned ATEX Certification.
Now tri-rated for installation in NEC, CEC and ATEX hazardous locations, these heavy-duty enclosures are global wide solutions for areas where explosive gases or dusts are handled and stored, such as petrochemical, chemical, paint and marine applications. In addition to the new ATEX certification, the AJBEW is NEMA 4X rated, qualifying it for use in demanding wash down and corrosive environments.
Rugged Protection for Electrical Components AJBEW enclosures feature an external flange for maximized internal space to fit a wide combination of starters, breakers, relays and other components. An o-ring gasket ensures watertight integrity while its bolt-on stainless steel feet allow secure mounting on irregular surfaces.
Appleton offers the AJBEW with a range of modification possibilities, including drilled and tapped entries, control operator openings and pre-installed control operators and terminal blocks. Its case and cover are manufactured of copper-free aluminum with shot blast finish and stainless steel hardware. Covers also feature hinges on 12² x 12² and larger sizes.
