Offerings will include Short Courses on Nuclear Fuel Cycle, ASTM C26 Subcommittee Meetings, tours, and workshops: Remote Equipment Design, Analytical Development and Reference Materials in Nuclear Fuel Cycle, Long Term Glass Performance, and Used Fuels/Spent Fuel/Storage/Transportation and Disposal. W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.–ASTM International Committee C26 on Nuclear Fuel Cycle will sponsor several workshops and short courses to be held June 16-21, 2013, at the Mercure, Pont d'Avignon Hotel, Avignon, France, in conjunction with the committee’s standards development meetings.

Formed in 1969, ASTM Committee C26 develops standards which facilitate the commerce; worker safety; public and environmental health; and regulatory compliance within the nuclear fuel cycle. All aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle are included with emphasis on nuclear fuel and reactor materials processing, analysis, and disposal/disposition technologies and applications. Related nuclear fuel cycle activities of both the commercial nuclear industry and the defense community are covered by this committee.

The following workshops and short courses are scheduled to take place:
Sunday June 16, 2013:
• Short Courses on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

Monday June 17, 2013:
• ASTM C26 Subcommittee Meetings (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
• Short Courses on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (12:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Tuesday June 18, 2013:
• ASTM Committee C26 Subcommittee Meetings (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
• Workshop on Remote Equipment Design and Short Courses on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.)
• Short Courses on Nuclear Fuel Cycle (12:00 p.m. - 6:30 pm.)

Wednesday June 19, 2013:
• Tours: Tricastan and Melox (Marcoule)

Thursday June 20, 2013:
• Workshop on Analytical Development and Reference Materials in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle (8:30 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.)
• Workshop on Long Term Glass Performance (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
• Workshop on Used Fuels/Spent Fuel/Storage/Transportation & Disposal (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

Friday June 21, 2013:
• Workshop on Long Term Glass Performance (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
• Workshop on Analytical Development and Reference Materials in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)

Online registration is now open and closes May 1. Registration is limited to 75 attendees on a first come first serve basis. The workshop and short course fee for the entire week is $300 USD for ASTM members and non-members and $150.00 USD for presenters.
