ZF-Lemforder Selects MTS for Heavy Truck Testing System

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., March 23 - MTS Systems Corporation (NASDAQ:MTSC), announced today that ZF-Lemforder, located in Diepholz, Germany, has selected MTS' high performance road simulator for testing suspension designs for heavy trucks.

"The choice of MTS test systems by a major global truck suspension manufacturer validates our decision to expand our testing reach to the heavy truck market," said Sidney W. Emery, Jr., chairman and CEO of MTS Systems Corporation. "New regulatory requirements, increased concerns for driver comfort and greater cargo carrying efficiency have increased the demand for more accurate and reliable heavy truck testing solutions. MTS' technology leadership and global footprint is ideally suited to support truck OEMs and their component suppliers to meet these demands."

"As traditional field testing of heavy trucks became more costly, time consuming and difficult to control, we searched for a cost-effective physical testing solution that would address customers' needs for affordability and accuracy," said Mike Schulz, senior product manager, MTS. "Our new heavy truck road simulator meets the testing needs of the market at a much lower cost than road or proving ground testing. With this release, we have added to our growing portfolio of heavy truck products. This now includes tire-coupled testing solutions, heavy duty multi-axial simulation tables (MAST(TM)) and the latest generation of truck mounted wheel force transducers (SWIFT®). These products underscore MTS' commitment to developing innovative solutions for the heavy truck market. With more than forty years of experience and unparalleled expertise in ground vehicles testing, MTS continues to provide advanced testing systems for cars, light trucks, heavy trucks, and motorsport vehicles and components."
