Yield Stress Rheometer measures shear stress to 40,000 Pa.

Press Release Summary:

YR-1 includes 0.232 in. dia V-74 vane spindle, which is suited for thick and/or highly viscous materials such as pastes, peanut butter, and grease. Vane spindle reduces required sample size down to less than ½ in. in diameter. Tool provides alternative to full-featured lab rheometers and is computer programmable using EZ-Yield software. Additional vane spindles (3) are available to expand viscosity ranges.

Brookfield Pushes the Limits of the YR-1 Yield Stress Rheometer

Now Higher Stress Range and Smaller Samples

Count on Brookfield Engineering to push good to great! The industry standard Brookfield YR-1 Yield Stress Rheometer now includes the new V-74 vane spindle for even higher stress and smaller sample sizes. Ideal for thick and/or highly viscous materials like pastes, peanut butter and grease, the new V-74 vane spindle can handle yield stress measurement up to a maximum shear stress range of 40,000 Pa.

The V-74's tiny vane diameter, only 0.232 in. (0.589 cm) also effectively reduces the required sample size container to just less than 1/2" in diameter (1.178 cm) making extremely small samples a practical consideration for QC testing on the production floor.

The Brookfield YR-1 is a simple-to-use, low cost alternative to complicated, full-featured lab rheometers. It is fully computer programmable using EZ-Yield software for use with a PC.

Three additional vane spindles are available to expand the viscosity ranges.
