Trigger and Realtime Trace for XC2000/XE166 Family
Infineon's controller families XC2000 (Automotive) and XE166 (Industrial) have become established in their segments. Thanks to the compatibility to the XC16x family and the enhanced performance and extended peripherals these families offer an excellent upgrade path for existing designs. As newest family member the XE162M is launched now.
In addition, Infineon now meets customer requirements for extended realtime debug features and introduces at the embedded world 2009 the new emulation device for this architecture. The new chip is a superset of all the family's derivatives with an additional incorporating MCDS. MCDS means multi core debug solution and provides users with high-end debug features such as trace and performance analysis in order to find even most complex bugs.
In close cooperation with Infineon, Hitex has developed the Tantino MCDS supporting the new MCDS device features. The Tantino MCDS offers debugging functions as yet provided by classical emulators and so-named bond-out chips. In many fields MCDS also allows to control chip-internal processes more precisely. The MCDS extensions are driven by a plug-in to the Eclipse-based TASKING C166 VX toolset. In cooperation with Altium/TASKING a user-friendly frontend was developed, which allows quick and easy operation due to seamless integration in the development environment. This offers debugging performance at a new level.
