Quantum Controls, Inc. Provides Critical Component for Successful New Product from Greenlee
Minneapolis, MN - January 21, 2009 - Quantum Controls Inc. of Chanhassen, MN recently joined with Greenlee to develop the critical motor control for a successful new cable pulling lubrication system. The Greenlee UG5 Ultra Glider(TM) is the "new way" to effectively apply cable lube during cable installation. An important element of the Ultra Glider(TM) is the variable speed motor controller. A particular challenge from Greenlee was to embed a 360W variable speed pump control in a 3" diameter motor housing, including operator controls. Quantum provided the design and manufacture of both 12VDC and 120VAC versions of a cost effective microcontroller-based variable speed motor control. Now available from Greenlee, the UG5 Ultra Glider(TM) is providing savings to contractors by reducing labor costs and utilizing substantially less lubricant than required with conventional hand application. The variable speed pump control from Quantum Controls was key to making this a cost effective, successful new product for Greenlee.
