Atlas Announces First 7.5-ton Indoor/Outdoor Spot Cooler
NEW PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER OFFERS INCREASED CAPACITY, EASE OF USE
Torrance, Calif., January 2008 - A new 7.5-ton portable air conditioner that offers 50 percent greater cooling capacity than any comparable unit on the market is now available from Atlas Sales & Rentals, Inc. Manufactured by NorthWind, Inc. (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), the new "Kodiak Series 7.5-ton" spot cooler extends the reach and range of applications for portable equipment. Compact enough to fit through a 32-inch door, it cools larger areas with fewer units, allowing easier transport and operation while using fewer electrical lines. It is also the first unit of its type to be UL listed and CSA certified for outdoor use.
The Kodiak 7.5-ton portable air conditioner is available from Atlas for rental or purchase and may be used for primary, supplemental or emergency cooling. Typical applications include special event tents and outdoor receptions, office and commercial spaces, data centers, hospitals, airports and transportation centers, schools, public buildings, TV/film production locations, and process cooling in manufacturing areas.
Design features include electromechanical controls for ease of use, phase protector and compressor time delay for reliability and electrostatic filters for enhanced IAQ. Rugged yet quiet belt drive blowers deliver high airflow and can handle 80 equivalent feet of duct using an optional evaporator nozzle plate. The unit is also pre-wired for use with a remote thermostat, allowing precise temperature control in applications where the portable cooler is positioned in one area and cool air ducted into another.
The Kodiak unit is available in two models for 208/230v/3-phase or 460v/3-phase voltage requirements. Operating range is 60 - 115 degrees F.
