Image Scan Holdings PLC Launches Specialised Laboratory Range Of 3D X-Ray Systems For Industrial R&D Market

Image Scan Holdings plc (AIM: IGE), a provider of leading multi-view, 3D X-ray imaging solutions for the security and industrial inspection markets, is launching its new MDXI range of 3D X-ray equipment.

Designed specifically for the needs of R&D departments of major manufacturers, the MDXI range allows for detailed one-off - or small batch inspections - of materials and equipment.

Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan Holdings plc, commented:
"The R&D market represents an important niche within the $1 billion industrial inspection market. It likewise provides a strategic route into a broad range of global manufacturing businesses. We believe the low-cost MDXI range will play an important role in standardising 3D based x-ray inspection in the industrial market."

Unlike traditional 2D x-ray devices currently on the market, Image Scan's 3D MDXI range provides detailed, three dimensional data - as well as structural information - on concealed objects.

The MDXI-300(TM) is one of a family of fully integrated, transportable, turn-key X-ray inspection systems designed to provide the end-user with high-resolution X-ray inspection capability. The modular design of the MDXI-300(TM) system enables it to be incorporated into a wide variety of in-line, on-line and off-line end user applications. The standard MDXI-300(TM) is housed in a robust industrial enclosure and is fully self-contained requiring services of only a single phase mains input. The system, which comes as standard with two dimensional (2D) imaging software, can also be readily upgraded to incorporate 3D capability. The wheel mounted system's very small footprint (0.7m x 1.1m) and its low weight (less than 300kg) allows it to be installed in minutes at nearly any location in a laboratory or factory.
