FocalSpot Introduces Concept FX a Multi-Axis High-Resolution X-Ray Inspection System
The Concept FX has a 20-inch x 24-inch no-clamp sample tray with 6-axes sample manipulation
San Diego, CA - February 8, 2006 - FocalSpot, Inc. (www.focalspot.com), announced today a new addition to their "affordable" line of advanced BGA/SMT inspection and rework solutions, The Concept FX. The Concept FX is the next generation in multi-axis, X-ray Inspection Systems featuring outstanding configuration flexibility with 80/90/130 kV x-ray source options, six-axes of motion control, unparalleled operator-friendly ergonomic design and a unique no-clamp sample tray for fast load and unload (patent pending). The Concept FX will be unveiled at APEX 2006 February 8 -10, 2006 in the FocalSpot booth number 843.
The Concept FX x-ray source and detector tilt offaxis in relation to the sample providing oblique object viewing in real-time. The system has a small footprint of 46-inches by 52-inches yet is capable of inspecting large PCBs up to 20-inches by 24-inches; 60% larger board handling than similar sized systems. The high-resolution high-magnification imaging train provides crystal clear imaging of electrical connections. Applications include: failure analysis of bare boards, assemblies and parts, component interlayer prototyping, manufacturing process validation and rework verification.
