Wyse Integrates With Citrix Solutions in 90 Demonstration Desks Running on New Thin Computers and Wyse Streaming Manager software
ORLANDO, Fla., CITRIX IFORUM, Oct. 20 -- Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, will be demonstrating a number of new technologies at Citrix iForum(TM) Global 06 to educate attendees on the key benefits of thin computing, including improving data access, security, infrastructure cost-savings, and overall IT support. To show how Wyse Streaming Manager software enables customers to do more with Citrix products, Wyse has set up 90 demonstration desktops for attendees at the show's Internet Cafe.
"We are excited to be offering iForum attendees the opportunity to view thin computing solutions in action," said Tarkan Maner, president of worldwide field operations, Wyse. "Our partnership with Citrix means that we will continue to provide our joint customers with powerful thin computing solutions that deliver superior security, reliability and availability to businesses."
Attendees will have access to the following demo stations:
o Solutions for Telecommuting and Continuation of Operations -- Participants will learn how to set up their remote desktops instantly seeing the benefits of the Wyse WiFi V-Class thin client. This thin computing product is for remote workers: eliminating downtime, improving access to data and applications, and removing virus and malware risks.
o Solutions for IT Support -- Participants will learn how thin computing solutions help reduce compliance headaches and allow them to centrally manage up to thousands of desktops, eliminating desktop repair visits.
o Solutions for Secure Environments -- Participants will learn how to control access to computing environments with physical and encryption security solutions, eliminate concerns about physical removal or loss, and track and provision roles and access permissions centrally.
o Solutions for Rapid Expansion -- Participants will learn how to reduce the need for local IT support at remote sites, provision new employees and locations in minutes, and eliminate the need for infrastructure changes whenever there is a change in the physical location.
o Solutions for Training & Education -- Participants will learn how to reduce desktop set-up time, prevent data theft and testing fraud, and deliver animated, visually intensive applications over Local Area Networks (LAN).
Wyse Streaming Manager (WSM) offers a breakthrough in functionality to Citrix customers wanting to use thin computing. WSM enables IT to deliver rich video, animation, and visually intense applications over LANs, eliminates the need for client management, and can be deployed seamlessly with Citrix Presentation Server(TM). It does this by streaming the operating system to the thin client on demand.
"We are extremely pleased to have Wyse Technology participate in this year's iForum," said David Jones, corporate vice president, business development, for Citrix. "Wyse is a valued partner that helps deliver high-value thin computing offerings to market."
At the Citrix iForum Global 06 conference, in Orlando, Florida, Wyse products are showcased at Exhibition Booth #103.
