Lutron Radio Powr Savr(TM) Wall Mounted Wireless Occupancy Sensor Saves Time and Energy

Easy to Install Device for Easy Energy Savings Featured at Lightfair 2010

Las Vegas, NV - Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. combines convenience, exceptional energy savings, and ease of installation with the new Radio Powr Savr(TM) Wall Mounted Wireless occupancy sensors. The path to energy efficient lighting continues forward with the introduction of these new wireless occupancy sensors from Lutron. This announcement adds 3 new wireless sensors to the Radio Powr Savr family.

The following three versions all mount on the wall:

o Corner Mount - 90 degree detection

o Wall Mount - 180 degree detection

o Hallway Mount - long, narrow detection range for hallways and aisle ways

Providing a simple way to go green, the innovative sensors are specifically designed for easy installation in conference rooms, copy rooms, small offices, hallways, classrooms, kitchens, restrooms, and other spaces where automatic lighting shut-off is desirable.

Radio Powr Savr sensors can be installed quickly and easily. By simply placing the unit on the wall and replacing a standard light switch with a compatible Lutron dimmer or switch, users can retrofit a space in minutes. No wiring is required, making it especially effective in applications where traditional wired sensors are difficult to install. The sensor contains easily-accessible buttons for a quick setup and an illuminating lens to verify ideal sensor placement. The sensor contains cutting-edge technology to detect fine motions and perform reliably. It has user-replaceable batteries, designed to last 10-years.

For flexible and expandable energy-saving retrofits, up to 10 dimmers or switches can communicate with a sensor via radio frequency, and users can add up to 3 sensors for superior coverage. The sensors can be programmed to operate as an occupancy sensor (automatic-on and automatic-off functionality) or a vacancy sensor (manual-on and automatic-off functionality). A vacancy-only model is also available to meet the California Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standard requirements.

The sensors are compatible with Lutron's Maestro Wireless® non-neutral switches, GRAFIK Eye® QS Wireless control units, and the Energi Savr Node(TM) product family, making it an important part of an energy-saving light control strategy. Depending on the overall system configuration, Lutron's Radio Powr Savr devices can reduce lighting electricity usage by 25 to 40 percent in a given space.
