Wireless LAN System features tripled capacity.

Press Release Summary:

TrueReuse(TM) for Wireless LAN System brings together Interference-Free(TM) channel blanket topology for achieving wide coverage and seamless mobility, with real-time frequency reuse inside channel blanket, for multiplication of total capacity system-wide. With TrueReuse enabled, system is able to decide when to permit multiple access points to transmit to multiple clients, simultaneously on same channel, without causing co-channel interference, even in dense access point deployments.

Extricom Sets New Industry Standard with TrueReuse Wireless LAN

Technology Triples WLAN Capacity to Power Advanced Wireless Services

NEW YORK, February 8/ -- Extricom, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance
wireless LAN infrastructure solutions for the enterprise, today unveiled TrueReuse(TM), a breakthrough technology that sets a new standard for Wi-Fi(802.11) capacity.

At DEMO 2006, Extricom formally introduced TrueReuse via a live demonstration that achieved a three-fold increase in channel capacity on a system deployed entirely within the confines of the conference ballroom. This level of channel reuse and corresponding capacity increase, in such a constrained space, is unparalleled by other competitive offerings.

"Capacity is rapidly replacing coverage as the key element in the design and deployment of enterprise-class wireless LANs," said Craig J. Mathias, a Principal with the wireless and mobile advisory firm Farpoint Group (Ashland, MA). "The ability to dynamically manage radio bandwidth to maximize throughput for multiple classes of traffic will become a core requirement for all enterprise installations going forward."

The release of TrueReuse for the Extricom Wireless LAN System brings together two complementary and powerful ideas: the Interference-Free(TM) channel blanket topology, for achieving robust coverage and seamless mobility with radically simple deployment, and real-time frequency reuse inside the channel blanket, for a multiplication of total capacity system-wide. With TrueReuse enabled, the system is able to decide when to permit multiple access points to transmit to multiple clients, simultaneously on the same channel, without causing co-channel interference, even in a dense access point deployment.

"TrueReuse is the path to the long talked-about Gigabit wireless LAN," said Gideon Rottem, CEO and Co-Founder of Extricom. "Combined with our architecture's robust coverage, seamless mobility, and ease of deployment and maintenance, the Extricom WLAN System delivers the large-scale, multi-service flexibility that enterprises are seeking."

General availability of TrueReuse is expected early in the second quarter of this year.
