Phoenix Contact Offers Explosion Proof Division 1 Wireless I/O Communication System

Harrisburg, PA - Wireless I/O systems can now be safely installed in the Division 1 area with the new XANT explosion proof system from Phoenix Contact. This patent pending wireless I/O transmitter/receiver system features a cast aluminum enclosure designed to house a transmitter and antenna. A receiver and antenna is included loose with the packaged system. The ruggedized, cast aluminum enclosure is impact resistant to UL requirements and includes an integral wire sealing chamber, eliminating the need for a field installed poured sealing fitting.

A second model, the N4ANT is also available for any industrial or general purpose areas rated NEMA 4X where ruggedized protection is important. Both models provide a wireless solution which reduces installation labor costs and eliminates the need for conduit and wires in hazardous or other industrial locations.

The systems come complete with a transmitter and antenna from Phoenix Contact enclosed in an Adalet cast aluminum enclosure and a receiver unit and antenna from Phoenix Contact which can be housed in any of Adalet's stainless steel or fiberglass enclosures.

The transmitter/receiver system utilizes spread spectrum frequency hopping techniques to guarantee a license-free (902 -928 MHz ISM band), interference-free link between remote devices and the control room. Typical in-plant range is 600 - 1,000 feet with no line-of-sight, much farther with outdoor applications. Capable of carrying one 4-20mA analog signal, the systems also feature 1W transmitter power and three contact outputs.

Phoenix Contact Inc. is registered to ISO 9001: 2000 - Quality Systems Model for Quality Assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing.
