75 Series Wire Feeder And Q(TM)-Gun System Provide Flawless Wire Feeding, Excellent Arc Performance

*Optimized for feeding aluminum, steel and stainless steel wires *Free Bernard, Q(TM)-Gun and Centerfire(TM) consumables APPLETON, Wis., January 9, 2005-For unprecedented reliability in feeding aluminum, steel or stainless steel wires, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. recently released the 75 Series wire feeder featuring a new Accu-Mate(TM) connection and four drive-roll Precision Drive (PD) wire drive assembly. The new design eliminates downtime and other costs associated with wire buckling, kinking and birdnesting, greatly increasing productivity. All models feature a free Bernard, Q(TM)-Gun and Centerfire(TM) consumables to ensure optimal arc control and wire feeding performance. Improved Drive Roll System The 75 Series wire feeder, designed for industrial applications, features Miller's Accu-Mate(TM) connection which secures the Bernard Q-Gun power pin assembly to the Precision Drive (PD) wire drive assembly. To achieve flawless wire feeding, the PD wire drive assembly uses patent-pending drive rolls and guides. On the 75 Series, continuous guides nestle into the drive rolls, maintaining support throughout the entire wire path. "The 75 Series PD wire drive system feeds aluminum and stainless steel wire without birdnesting or kinking and, as a result, helps increase productivity" says Mike Vandenberg, wire feed product manager, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Miller offers PD drive rolls for hard (steels) or soft wires (aluminum) up to 5/64-inch. For these wires, PD inlet guides and Q-Gun power pin tips mate with the PD continuous guides to eliminate gaps between the feeder guides and the gun liner. For running wire larger than 5/64-inch, Miller offers standard style drive rolls and intermediate and exit guides in place of PD continuous guides. To reduce downtime associated with drive roll changeovers, the 75 Series features the Quick Ejector, which releases the drive rolls with the push of a button. The Accu-Mate(TM) connection and Q-Gun power pin provide a heavy-duty, all-brass power block for maximum durability, corrosion resistance and optimized electrical conduction. A stainless steel tab located on the power clamp engages grooves on the Q-Gun power pin for a secure lock and easily rotates to accommodate guns with non-PD compatible power pins. "This all-brass power block connection is extremely durable. The Bernard Q-Gun completely engages with the Accu-Mate system and there is no possible way the gun could push out of the feeder, even while using larger diameter wires," says Mike Vandenberg. The precise pressure applicator's preset tension settings equally apply two points of pressure on the drive roll with a single lever, and they also eliminate drive roll pressure fluctuation when welding. On top of the feeder housing is a chart of recommended drive roll pressure settings for various types of wires and wire diameters. Optimized Welding Performance and Control The 75 Series is a complete out-of-the-box system requiring minimal set-up time and is compatible with any constant voltage welding power source featuring a 14-pin connection. The new 75 Series wire feeder is available in 4 models. The 75S is the standard model and 75D features digital meters for displaying voltage and wirefeed speed. The 75DX features dual schedule settings (which allows welding operators to toggle between two welding parameters without readjusting machine), adjustable weld sequence control, process range control and stores four customized weld programs. The 75DXA includes the same features as the 75DX, but has been set up to feed aluminum and stainless steel wire. A push-only system, the DXA provides such positive feeding performance that it can run stainless steel and aluminum wire in gun cable lengths up to 15-feet. Bernard Q-Gun and Centerfire Consumables To optimize performance and minimize downtime, all 75 Series models include a free Bernard Q300 or Q400 MIG gun with patented Centerfire consumables. The Q300 and Q400 can be used in mixed gas applications and are rated at 100 percent duty cycle with CO2 gas. Featuring a 360-degree rotatable head, the Q-Guns help lower downtime by offering quick changeovers without tools, while the Centerfire series of gas diffusers, contact tips and nozzles bring superior gas coverage and extend consumable life. Hand-tightened Centerfire series of nozzles come with built-in spatter shields that protect the gas diffusers and facilitate smoother, less turbulent gas flow for consistent weld bead quality. The Centerfire Series of consumables is also compatible with competitive MIG guns. Using the CustomSelect(TM) Ordering System on www.bernardwelds.com, operators can interactively customize their Q-Guns to meet their future welding needs. Bernard Q-Guns come in 150-, 200-, 300-, 400-, 500- and 600-amp models. For precise gun configurations, CustomSelect users can choose between a locking trigger, dual trigger pull, dual schedule switch or trigger extension. To accommodate a variety of welding needs, 75 Series users may choose to exchange the included Q300 or Q400 with a different Q-Gun Model. The 75 Series Wire Feed System is covered by Miller's True-Blue" three-year warranty. To download a spec sheet, visit Miller's Web site at MillerWelds.com.
