Wheelabrator Wire Mesh Belt Systems: Blast Wheels are Oriented to Achieve Maximum Surface Preparation Needs
Burlington, ON - (April 17, 2009) - Each Wheelabrator® system is designed with versatility in mind, accommodating diverse part shapes and textures. Foundries, die casters, permanent mold operations, fabricators and forge shops turn to this system for their cleaning needs. Die cast components, pipe fittings, crankshafts, weldments, forgings and sand castings are some of the common cleaning applications. Equipped with a continuous flow-through process, this MeshBlast® system eliminates potential part damage caused from part-on-part contact typical of tumbling cleaning systems. The mesh belt machine requires less part handling, resulting in lower operating costs.
The MeshBlast® line has three model types: Model 27, Model 36 and Model 42. Model 27 is equipped with a 27 inch wide conveyor, Model 36 has a 36 inch wide conveyor, while Model 42 is built with a 42 inch wide conveyor; all constructed from manganese wire mesh. All blast cabinets are constructed from manganese steel for excellent wear resistance in steel shot applications. Models 27 and 42 are equipped with four (4) or eight (8) 14 inch diameter blast wheels, ranging from 20 HP (15kW) to 30 HP (22kW), while Model 36 is equipped with four (4) or eight (8) 14 inch diameter blast wheels, up to a maximum of 30 HP (22kW).
Each MeshBlast system is equipped with an abrasive cleaning and recycling system with an air wash abrasive separator that removes contaminants and returns clean abrasive to the storage hopper for the wheels. Several available optional accessories that add to the system's versatility are wire mesh belt load and unload extension conveyors, PLC controls and magnetic separators for foundry applications.
