Emerson Introduces Line of Wet Chemistry Analyzers

Low-maintenance analyzers complete Rosemount® Analytical offering for the power and semiconductor industries

IRVINE, CALIF (November 12, 2009) - Emerson Process Management today announced the first shipment of Rosemount® Analytical on-line wet chemistry analyzers for sodium, silica, phosphate, hydrazine, and ammonia. The analyzers are used for process monitoring in the power and ultrapure water industries.

The addition of wet chemistry analyzers expands Emerson's industry-leading line of conductivity, pH, and dissolved oxygen analyzers and sensors. The wet chemistry line, originally developed by Scientific Instruments Inc., which Emerson acquired in May, was already well-established in the power and semiconductor industries.

The analyzers are easy to use. Pressing one button starts, calibrates, and puts the instrument on-line. Routine reagent replacement and maintenance takes only five minutes every three months. Replacing the valve pump, the heart of the analyzer, requires about 15 minutes every two years. Reagents are ready-to-use; there are no messy chemical solutions to prepare and standardize. The analyzer features self-diagnostics that validate the accuracy of the measurement by monitoring critical functions and alerting the user when a problem occurs, such as a leak, low reagent, or an out of range measurement. The analyzer can measure as many as six sample streams sequentially.

"We're pleased to provide our line of wet chemistry analysis systems to round out our complete offering for the power and semiconductor industries," said John Wright, vice president, Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical. "Our analysis systems are industry leaders and are backed by extensive experience and refinements, and now come with the expertise, service, and quality standards Emerson is known for."

Emerson's complete product offering for power processing analysis now provides all the liquid analytical measurements required by the Electric Power Research Institute. The complete line is now available for order.
