Welding Wire can be used on under-carriage components.

Press Release Summary:

Thermaclad 42 submerged arc-welding wire offers temper resistance as well as resistance to metal-to-metal frictional wear and cold deformation. It is 1/8 in. in diameter, with DC amperage range of 400 to 500 A and voltage range of 27 to 29 V. Thermaclad 42 can be used for build-up and hardfacing on rollers and idlers, and is also suitable for crane wheel and mine-car wheel applications.

Stoody® Thermaclad 42 Features Superior Design for Use on Undercarriage Components

St. Louis - July 15, 2002 - Stoody® Thermaclad 42 submerged arc welding wire features a superior tough design for build up and overlay of undercarriage components.

With its low carbon content and increased molybdenum, Thermaclad 42 possesses an ideal combination of strength, temper resistance and insensitivity to cooling rate. Additional benefits include a resistance to metal-to-metal frictional wear and cold deformation, as well as a high compressive strength.

Thermaclad 42 can be used for both build-up and hardfacing on rollers and idlers, and is also suitable for crane wheel and mine car wheel applications. It is operational over a wide amperage range, and features a high deposition rate. Thermaclad 42 is 1/8" (3.2 mm) in diameter, with a DC amperage range of 400-500 and a voltage range of 27-29.
