Lincoln Electric's Ranger(R) 250 Is Now Available With An Onan(R) OHV Engine


Cleveland, OH- The popular Ranger® 250 from The Lincoln Electric Company is now available with an Onan® OHV engine for even more welding and AC generator output. With this new engine, the 250 amp, 100 percent duty cycle rating of this machine has been increased from 25V to 28V (at 40°C). The overhead valve in the Onan engine is also able to offer improved efficiency with 15 percent longer running time on a full tank of fuel as compared to the Onan side-valve engine.

Like all Rangers, the Ranger- 250 with Onan is designed for contractors. maintenance and repair, owner-operators, and welding professionals.

Welding/Power Capabilities

The hallmark of this machine is Lincoln's Chopper Technology, which controls the DC welding output to create easy starts, a smooth arc, low spatter and excellent head appearance. The Ranger 250 Onan OHV can produce up to 275 amps. 27V at a 60 percent duty cycle in CV mode for Innershield® and MIG welding. The unit offers 9,000 watts of peak and 8,500 watts of continuous AC generator power for tools, lights and plasma cutters. This DC multi-process gasoline engine driven welder unit can be used for general purpose stick, pipe mode for stick welding, Touch Start TIG, cored-wire, MIG and arc guging up to 3/16" in diameter.

Engine

With a fully enclosed case, the 20.5 HP twin-cylinder engine is low in noise with 98.5 dBA sound power at full load. In addition, the new Ranger 250 Onan requires less frequent maintenance with oil changes required every 100 hours and oil filter changes every 200 hours.

Manufactured under a quality system certified to ISO 9002 requirements, the Ranger carries Lincoln's 3-year warranty (all engines carry a separate warranty by the manufacturer.) All units have the approval of the Canadian Standards Association.
