Original Press Release:

Lincoln's New Invertec® V450-PRO Substantial Output. Smart Performance. Rugged Reliability.

o 5-570 Amp Output Range for Stick, Touch-Start(TM) TIG, MIG, cored wire and arc gouging
o Full-featured standard arc controls or optional Advanced Process Panel for access to Lincoln Nextweld® process innovations.
o 88% Efficiency and 95% Power Factor dramatically reduce energy consumption costs.

Cleveland, Ohio - The Lincoln Electric Company's new Invertec® V450-PRO is a multi-process inverter-based welding power source intended for heavy fabrication. It is especially suited for shops commonly welding with 1/16" or larger diameter welding wire electrodes that also require plenty of power for arc gouging repair with a 3/8" carbon.

In standard Factory configuration, the V450-PRO is capable of stick, Touch-Start(TM) TIG, MIG, cored wire welding and arc gouging. Full-featured standard controls also include selectable Hot Start(TM), an arc starting aid for difficult applications, as well as variable Arc Force, which allows you to dial in 'soft' or crisp' arc characteristics.

With the optional Advanced Process Panel Kit, operators gain access to pulsing capability and a host of Lincoln Nextweld® process innovations, including Pulse-on-Pulse(TM), Power Mode,® and Waveform Control Technology(TM).

The V450-PRO features a robust 5-570 amp welding output range for all recommended processes, which is low enough for TIG welding on thin sheet metal and yet substantial enough for arc gouging on thick plate.

With an 88% efficiency rating and a high 95% power factor rating, the inverter-based V450-PRO delivers dramatically lower energy consumption compared to conventional reactor-type welding power sources. And, with input voltage capability ranging from 205 up to 575, the unit can be run on virtually any input power in the world, allowing you to consider the V450-PRO for installation in all of your factories around the world.

The V450-PRO carries a three-year warranty on parts and labor. It is manufactured under a quality system certified to ISO 9001 requirements and ISO 14001 environmental standards.

Lincoln Electric is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc-welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.

Glossary:

o Pulse-On-Pulse(TM), which uses a sequence of varying pulse wave shapes to produce a TIG-like bead appearance and excellent weld properties when MIG welding aluminum.

o Power Mode(TM), which uses high-speed regulation of output power to deliver extremely fast response to arc changes. The result is improved MIG performance, such as low spatter, with consistent bead wetting and controlled penetration.

o Pulsed MIG, which varies weld current between peak and background current to provide better control of heat input. It reduces warping and burnthrough on thin material.
