Welding Cell has high weight capacity.

Press Release Summary:

FlexArc® C Robotic Arc Welding Cell, with palletized frame design, protects operator by providing minimal access to work area with only 4 viewing windows of protective weld screen. It uses IRB 1400 robot and IRBP C positioner, holding either 1100 or 2200 lb per station. Positioner is integrated with robot controller, and interchanges with robot when signaled by operator. Applications include brake parts, brackets, frames, steel furniture, and computer cabinets.

ABB Introduces New Robotic Arc Welding Cell; FlexArc C

FORT COLLINS, CO: ABB has recently released a newly redesigned model of its successful FlexArc® product line. The new model is called a FlexArc C Robotic Arc Welding Cell and offers a new innovative design change and increased capacity. The palletized frame design has been modified to further improve operator protection by providing minimal access to the work area with only 4 viewing windows of protective weld screen.

FlexArc C uses ABB's IRB 1400 robot and the IRBP C positioner, with the increased capability of holding either 1100 or 2200 pounds (500 or 1000 kg) per station. Its unique design allows for flexible welding solutions of simple parts such as brake parts, brackets, frames, steel furniture, computer cabinets, etc.

The positioner is integrated with the robot controller, and interchanges with the robot when signalled by the operator. It has a weld screen barrier to separate the operator from the welding process, and uses the same drive systems and software as the robot.

Options available for the FlexArc C cell include the ABB automated calibration system BullsEye, a torch cleaner assembly, SmarTac tactile sensing, AWC through-the-arc weld tracking, welding torch water cooler, photo-optic light curtains, fume extraction hood and tooling fixtures.
