Original Press Release:

Lincoln Electric's Ranger(TM) 250 is Now Available with a Kohler LPG Engine

Cleveland, OH - Intended for use where gasoline and diesel emissions are unacceptable, the Ranger(TM) 250 LPG engine driven welder / generator from The Lincoln Electric Company is powered by low emission liquid propane gas. This rugged multi-process welder is designed for contractor teams, owner-operators, and maintenance and repair shops.

The new Ranger 250 LPG is recommended for stick, Touch-start(TM) TIG, flux-cored wire and MIG wire welding as well as arc gouging. It delivers 250 amps for welding at 100 percent duty cycle and 9,000 peak (8,000 continuous) watts of 120V/240AC generator power. This is enough power to run lights, tools, pumps and weld at the same time.

Lincoln's Chopper Technology(TM) provides easy starts, an extremely smooth arc, low spatter and outstanding bead appearance. The sleek, enclosed case lowers noise and protects critical engine components.

New features include an enhanced downhill pipe welding mode allowing for fast travel speeds, especially on fill passes. An arc control adjustment creates a softer, buttery arc, or a more forceful, digging arc. Also new is the Touch-Start TIG mode with its voltage-sensing output that extinguishes the arc when the torch is lifted at the end of the weld sequence for increased weld quality.

The top-of-the-line Kohler® 20 HP Command® LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) OHV engine features electric start and an oil drain valve (No tools are required). An automatic engine idler provides longer engine life and greater fuel economy. An automatic engine shutdown circuit protects against low oil pressure. An optional LPG Tank Holder Kit securely holds the tank during transport as well as regular use.

Manufactured under a quality system certified to ISO 9001 requirements, the Ranger carries Lincoln's 3-year warranty (all engines carry a separate warranty by the manufacturer.) All units have the approval of the Canadian Standards Association.

The Lincoln Electric Company, Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of arc welding equipment and consumables, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment.
