Pepperweed Advanced Access 2.0 Provides Template Version Control, Advanced System Health, and New Self-Service Capabilities
INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 5 / -- Pepperweed's newest release of its Advanced Access web portal provides significant enhancements for HP OpenView Operations for UNIX Administrators, including template version control, integrated system health monitoring, and advanced self-service configuration features.
Referring to Advanced Access 2.0, one HP OpenView administrator at SBC commented, "The ability for multiple admins to access the same server is huge. Using Advanced Access version control capabilities, administrators can extend the capability of HP OpenView Operations, out-of-the-box, integrating their preferred Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool to significantly reduce costs and effort required to track, manage, and maintain management templates. Administrators can ensure that templates are consistent across the organization, and rollback to earlier versions of templates, should issues arise with a new template configuration.
Pepperweed Advanced Access, version 2.0, also provides capabilities which further streamline HP OpenView Operations administration, delegation of administrative tasks, and configuration of remote access and security features. The new version of Advanced Access enables administrators to specify access rights down to a specific field within a template. Access rights can also be specified in terms of actions, i.e., whether a specific user may view, modify, create, delete, copy, and/or move any specific template, template group or condition.
Integrated System Health Monitoring has been added to monitor file systems, file age, and system processes/services. System performance monitoring can be configured to notify the administrator on any combination of over 80 performance metrics. Advanced Access version 2.0 also supports web-based editing, assignment and distribution of HP OpenView Performance Agent (formerly MeasureWare) configurations.
