Schneider Electric Launches New Web-Enabled Software

PowerLogic® SMS Version 4.0 features more intuitive interface

PALATINE, Ill. - June 24, 2004 - Schneider Electric's Power Management Operation has announced that the latest version of its powerful PowerLogic System Manager Software (SMS) is now available. SMS Version 4.0 features an entirely redesigned and more intuitive user interface, and includes standard web-enabled capabilities for each member of the SMS product family.

"PowerLogic software has always led the industry," said Phil Rector, Global Software Product Manager for Schneider Electric's Power Management Operations. "However, Version 4.0 really represents a quantum leap because it's web-enabled right out of the box. It's not an optional feature that users have to pay extra for."

Because the system features web-enabled capabilities as a standard part of the product offer, users can access it from anywhere within their facility as long as they have security clearance and access to the company's intranet. "This is particularly important because facility personnel can literally be anywhere, either at the facility or not, and have access to their PowerLogic System," Rector said.

PowerLogic SMS Version 4.0 also features an enhanced interface that allows users to simply select tabs at the top of the page to review energy consumption trends, power quality system health, graphical diagrams showing state of power sources, and more. This new interface also separates system set-up features from the features users need access to everyday so the concern about inadvertently changing settings is virtually eliminated.
