waterMONITOR Series of KPSIT Level and Pressure Transducers Now RoHS-Compliant

Hampton, VA, June 2007- Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of KPSI(TM) Level and Pressure Transducers, has announced that the waterMONITOR series in its line of KPSI Level and Pressure Transducers(TM) is now RoHS-compliant.

Of the ten Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) categories outlined by RoHS, KPSI transducers fall into category 9: Monitoring and Control Instrumentation. This category is currently exempt from the RoHS directives, meaning that manufacturers of this type of equipment are not required to comply with the regulations. Pressure Systems, Inc., however, has adopted a proactive approach with its waterMONITOR product line. The waterMONITOR has the greatest electronic content of any of their transducers and hence, the highest potential for lead in components and solder. For this reason, the product line became the company's first priority in addressing RoHS.

Steve Yakshe, Pressure Systems, Inc.'s president commented, "As a responsible supplier of environmental instrumentation, we are keenly aware of the importance to manufacture products that are safe to operate and harmless to our environment. Although KPSI

Transducers are in a category that is exempt from regulation, the voluntary introduction of RoHS compliance to the waterMONITOR product line is representative of our commitment to this cause."

The popular waterMONITOR offers highly accurate measurement of water level (or pressure), temperature and atmospheric pressure along with on-board datalogging and a variety of datacommunications options, including wireless. Effective immediately, the waterMONITOR series, including models 550, 551, 552, 553, 561, 570 and 571, is RoHS compliant. This compliance covers not only the transducer, but also related peripherals and accessories such as cables, converters and vent filters.

These products are available with no increase in price or lead-time and will feature Pressure System Inc.'s new RoHS-compliant symbol. Complete specifications are available at www.pressuresystems.com.

About RoHS: The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) affects producers of EEE marketing their products to countries in the European Union (EU). The regulations became enforceable on July 1, 2006. In general, the regulations seek to limit the amount of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in EEE products. Producers must be able to demonstrate compliance by submitting technical documentation to any EU investigating authority on request and retain documentation for four years after the EEE is placed on the market.

About Pressure Systems, Inc.: KPSI Level and Pressure Transducers are available from the Hampton, VA-based Pressure Systems, a world leader in the design and manufacture of precision level and pressure measurement instrumentation for environmental and aerospace test applications.
