Exinda Networks Drives Expansion of WAN Optimization Market with Groundbreaking 10 Mbps Appliance

Exinda Breaks the USD $2,000 Barrier for 10 Mbps for High Speed, Low Cost Links

SEATTLE, Oct. 30 -- Exinda Networks, the only provider of fully integrated WAN optimization and applications acceleration platforms worldwide, today announced the release of its groundbreaking 10 Megabits per second (Mbps) version of the Exinda 1700 WAN optimization appliance for small and medium enterprise (SME) and branch offices. The Exinda 1700-10 meets the growing demand for high speed, low cost links to branch office locations.

The high bandwidth 1700-10 model ramps the speed of the 1700 appliance series from its previous 2 Mbps to 10 Mbps. It is the first richly featured WAN optimization appliance at this performance level globally to be available at a recommended retail price of under USD $2,000. Comparable 10 Mbps solutions from competitive vendors are priced starting at USD $9,000.

The 1700-10 supports various new technologies including DSL and DSL2, which scale beyond the previous 2 Mbps DSL bandwidth limit. DSL links upwards of 10 Mbps are now emerging as the new DSL standard in many countries worldwide.

Exinda's 1700 appliance increases data speeds by up to 400 percent through data compression, traffic shaping and traffic optimization. The Exinda 1700 delivers the industry's best monitoring and reporting capabilities in its price class.

"Businesses can significantly increase the productivity of branch office employees by deploying the Exinda 1700 at the edges of the network," said Con Nikolouzakis, Exinda's executive director. "Exinda is quickly responding to the global market trend of enterprises adding many low cost, high bandwidth links. We are addressing the network optimization needs for this market segment that others cannot."

"Demand for the Exinda 1700 appliance is soaring," added Nikolouzakis. "It provides significant functionality and power in a compact unit. The availability of the 10 Mbps version greatly enhances the appeal of the 1700 appliance. It has opened up a whole new market segment for Exinda."

Pricing and Availability

The Exinda 1700-10 Mbps version costs under USD $2,000 and is now shipping. The Exinda 1700-2 Mbps version continues to be available at a cost of under USD $1,000.
