Arista's New Compact Wall-Mount, Low-Power Consumption Microbox-6824 Node Computer is Ideal for Automation Applications



Microbox-6824 is suitable for factory automation, facility monitoring, machine automation and environmental monitoring applications.

FREMONT, CA - February 22 2005 - Arista Corporation, a leading industrial PC solutions provider and systems integrator, today introduced its new Node computer, the Microbox-6824. The computer is designed to meet the demands of mission critical, high performance and reliable operation for factory automation, facility monitoring, machine automation and environmental monitoring. The Microbox-6824 features a small size, uses little power consumption and is ideal for wall-mount installations.

Designed without disk drives, fans, or moving parts, it is ideal for extreme rugged environments and its compact ruggedized wall mount system, is ideal for mission critical environments. Uses include temperature monitoring, process control and liquid lever measurement for factory applications.

The new Microbox-5824 is equipped with a 3.5 inch embedded board incorporating a VIA Eden 667MHz processor. The system memory is comprised of a single 144-pin SO-DIMM socket with up to 512MB of memory capacity. The Local Area Network uses a Realtek 8139C PCI PnP Base-T Ethernet controller and video support features a built-in VGA controller with up to 32MB of display shared memory.

The system comes with 4 COM ports, three are RS-232, and one is a RS-485 with an option for a RS-232/422. A optional PCMCIA is also available for wireless application. In addition, the Microbox-6824 has an on-board CompactFlash(TM) Type-1 socket and a 16-bit PC/104 extension connector.
